I'm a winner?!

Hi all! I know that I have been lagging a bit- when my husband has days off (rare!) we tend to isolate and spend some quality family time. He isn't a fan of the constant phone, Facebook, blog, etc. so when he's around I do try to shut off my social media life but boy is it hard! Anyway, we were planning on decorating for Halloween on Friday, going to the pumpkin patch on Saturday, and church on Sunday. Well there was a damper on our plan known as the FIRST SNOW! I was psyched... I absolutely love fall/winter weather so I was extremely excited when it started to snow on Friday. This was the first time our one year old had experienced snow and she loved it. Our dog went bananas too and ended up spending most of the day outside.

So what we did was... Friday- sat inside and watched Halloween themed movies. Saturday- repeat! Sunday- church, a good friend's child birthday party, and the Broncos game. We are postponing the pumpkin patch for this upcoming weekend and I am super excited to grab the wagon and go. Today I couldn't resist any longer (yes, I do know it is October 8th), and I had to put the Halloween decorations up. Now I am just super excited as I wait for our 6.5' Halloween inflatable decoration to arrive in the mail. -->

Now for fitness... Do you love extremely cute work out tanks for the gym? I sure do. Bashful Bliss sells awesome glass tile necklaces with cute sayings and cute phrases on tanks. Go check it out! Like them on Facebook and every Friday they have an opportunity to WIN cute swag! And guess who won this Friday?! ME! I never win anything. I am so excited to receive my new cute necklace and stationary :o).

Tomorrow's Better...

I'm sure if you are a fellow Pinterest addict, that you have seen the adorable e-card that states 'Since I already screwed up my diet, I might as well wait until next Monday to start again because diets can only start on Mondays' or something to that extent! Well... let me tell you... this is *totally* me. Except not for 'dieting' but rather for exercising. I keep saying tomorrow is better... okay maybe on Thursday... and before I know it it's the next week and I haven't done [a] SQUAT! (Get it ;]). I have been in a lull. The gym is NOT calling my name the way it used to. Maybe it's the mommyhood wearing me down, maybe it's the fact that Married to Jonas is on and I just have to see what happens after this commercial, maybe it's because our small town rec center has no childcare, maybe it's... the possibilities are endless! But I am expanding my fitness horizons. Who needs the gym?

Lately, I've been trying not to say 'tomorrow's better!'. Instead, I am focusing on saying do it today!! This is a difficult process and my inner monologue tends to fight me constantly. I am trying to figure out new ways to get in some exercise that involves a child activity (and sometimes a dog activity because he wants to be involved too, plus he is at an unhealthy 98 pounds and needs to MOVE). This last weekend, our sweet little girl turned the big ONE! And along with that, my mother bought her the perfect wooden Radio Flyer wagon. She loves it, she is so calm in it, and just wants me to walk so she can look at everything.

Notice the great custom pads and pillows that her loving grandmother made for her wagon! And don't judge the mismatching prints, she's a trendsetter! Wait and see, there will be leopard and floral patterns combined everywhere.

So we have reinvented fitness by... walking! Sad isn't it? But it WORKS for me! And what mom doesn't love a calm child? We get creative, we take new roads we've never been on, sometimes we just walk in circles around the driveway while I throw the ball for our dog. I'm learning it doesn't matter what you do, just do something. All it takes is getting up and going and at some point, you just have to start!

And then when you're all done... you can go try a nice healthy Pumpkin Spice Latte (did I mention that I love pumpkin in my last post?!) for your happy hour!

Cheers, everyone.

Drink up!

It is now officially fall. And I absolutely love it! Especially since it now means pumpkin everything- something that my husband is not particularly a fan of. I just received two samples for Click espresso protein drinks and decided I'd try them out this morning. Of course I also found it was necessary to add some pumpkin pie spice and trust me it was *good*! This is my version of a cocktail for an awesome fitness happy hour. www.drinkclick.com
